Working Time Directive

Weekly maximum working hours and opting out

Employers can’t force adults to work more than 48 hours a week on average - normally averaged over 17 weeks.

These rules don’t apply to jobs:

Opting out of the 48-hour week

If you who want to work more than 48 hours a week, can choose to opt out of the 48-hour limit.

This could be for a certain period or indefinitely however it must be voluntary and in writing.

We ask you when you sign up to our Umbrella Company Service wether you wish to opt out of the working time directive and you can cancel your opt-out whenever you want by giving us one months notice.
